Product Details

Have you been considering upgrading to rear disk brakes on your off-road rig but dislike the requirement for extra components to restore a functional parking brake? With this kit, you can swap out your worn-out, outdated drum brake system for modern calipers that use a 12" rotor and have a built-in Electric parking brake.

This kit is intended for someone with a modified off-road Toyota only with modified suspension.

These brackets will fit 6 lug axles only with 17 inch wheels.

They barely clear the 16s, and the bleeder rubs against the wheel. A spacer might be needed.

  • this listing is for a 1995-04 Tacoma with a stock Tacoma housing.
  • If you have installed a different axle and the brake line set up has be altered selected no brake lines at.

what's Required

For leaf spring Toyotas, a Shackle flip kit (you should have done one by now) and the shocks need to be repositioned. for example, when you install chevy 63s leaf springs the shocks get moved on top of the housing.

  • 2018 - 2023 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE Rear calipers other gm calipers may fit if the part numbers match. (eBay has them for about 60.00 each) part number are BC140266 for the left side and BC141266 for the right side
  • Rotors are from the rear of 4th generation 4Runner 2003-09 they only make one size rotor. (Rock auto has them for about 25-35 each) rotors are hub centric and fit perfect.

If you're out wheeling you should have already upgraded to a dual diaphragm brake booster and its matching master cylinder if installing this kit in a first-generation 4Runner or pickup. Since the new calipers require more fluid to operate correctly, the master cylinder is essential if you want to make the most of your rear disc brake modification. You can Find these parts from a 2nd gen 4runner.

You might require a proportioning valve based on the weight of your rig, the brakes on all of the vehicles we have tried so far seem great without one. We had no trouble parking on the steepest hills while exploring the Rubicon Trail and a few other local trails, the calipers always held tight.

what's included

  • 1- pair of braided brake lines with banjo bolts and copper washers. these lines measure 22 and 44 inches long. with plenty of slack to be able to swap out the pads. If you’ve swapped out the rear axle, I’ll have an additional listing to order the custom lines.
  • 1- pair of powder coated 3/8 thick steel caliper brackets with mounting hardware. The Bracket can be mounted 4 difference positions to clear your suspension. They can also be mounted in the forward position just be mindful of the brake lines and how you're going to bleed to calipers (bleeder position)
  • 1- Momentary Switch: DPDT reverse polarity switch (returns to off) when released to control the parking brake function on the calipers
  • 1-15amp breaker with ring terminals to avoid over driving the brake motors
  • 2 prewired caliper connectors to build your control harness.

How the parking brake works

• The toggle switch operates momentarily. The parking brake is set in one direction and released in the other. To set the brake, depress the brake pedal and flip the switch until the pedal slightly sinks. Additionally, the motors will produce noise when they compress into the rotor. Hold the switch for around three seconds to release the brake. If you hold the brake for an extended period of time while applying the brakes, the circuit breaker will trip.

• To prevent damage to the system, the circuit breaker protects against overcurrent in the switch and motors, and the calipers are designed to stall. After roughly sixty seconds, it will automatically reset, enabling us to resume operations.

Selectable rear locker? A cutting brake option will be added so you may operate each caliper separately and navigate the trail's tight twists.

but wait there is more!! if you call in the next 90 seconds... Okay, one more big plus. It is fairly simple to replace axle shafts on the trail. There's no need to press out studs or rebleed the brake system in order to the swap over the drum assembly. also makes carrying a spare axle easier.

check out all the pictures posted. I'll be updating this with installation instructions, how to wire the calipers which is super basic.

Thank you for your patience and support, as this is a one-man show!
